9/22/2023 0 Comments Autodesk screencast recorder![]() ![]() With some very small files (much less than 10 MB) I could finish this procedere successful. Now I can watch below the browse button the upload process and can see when the upload is complete (and have wait an additional time until the recording is completely finished. I leave the initial values Video size: Original and Video alignment: inline unchanged. the file name and a Description are filled automatically (I think I can change the Description if I want. I click the "Browse" button and select the. in the next window choose "From my computer" (here was the video file saved) in a forum reply pick the camera symbol in the headline (insert video) Create a video with a screen recorder of my choice and save it (.mp4 format) In the last weeks I tried several times to use this new tool. I can continue helping without it, will I suggested moving on to discussing alternatives. If you want Autodesk to hear you, it would be prudent to find another avenue. I'm afraid it's too late and any discussion here is not going to be heard by Autodesk and should turn to alternatives. do you think should we discuss about screencast? I can >not find> here<<. But if Autodesk only says "find your own video recorder", "find your own place to store these videos" or even expect us (the enthusiasts) to pay for providing this free support here. I can only speak for myself when I say that I am ready and willing to share my knowledge with the community (and I am sure this is true for many others as well). ![]() Otherwise, I'm afraid both the quality and the amount of mutual help will decrease. I just want to encourage Autodesk to give us a similar tool that fulfills its purpose. This screencast tool is (or was?) a good tool to provide this mutual help in good quality and with much success. ![]() After all, all the helpful users who keep the spirit of this community alive are also doing their "job" for free and in their spare time. And " it appears that something that was offered for free isn't going to be available anymore." is a bad argument. I only want to tell that I'm sadly about this. Where do you think should we discuss about screencast? Do you have any suggestion? I can >not find<< a place where I could hope to be heared from Autodesk. I assume the "screencast" forum (below of "other forums") is also not monitored as well as this one.īTW: I do not complain about this decision of Autodesk. Should someone activate a "petition" to preserve (and improve) Screencast, my agreement and support it can be sure.Īt the risk of causing a shitstorm - I press the POST button something like Product Feedback would be more appropriate. I am with " Why can't autodesk fix what's broken instead of getting rid of what's works?" Does Autodesk really want to put this at risk by depriving us of one of the most useful tools for this global communication? This will drastically decrease the quality of these forums.Ī big factor for the success of Autodesk products is undoubtedly also the large number of users, who enable extensive help among users through voluntary and free engagement. Have they tried this themselves with a larger number of videos?Īutodesk leaves us free to choose a screen recorder and where these videos are stored or from where they can be accessed and for how long (often only for a tightly limited period of time). Autodesk's suggestion to download these videos themselves if needed is hopefully just a joke. All these forum posts become de facto worthless without access to the videos. I myself have linked 1000+ such videos (and others I'm sure have many more), quite a few of which I'm sure will still be useful and helpful for future research. Not even with such powerful tools like Camtasia.įurthermore, I am appalled that with the end of Screencast, all non-embedded videos should also no longer be accessible. I have not found this possibility with any other screen recorder. Even if there are still some problems with this (especially with non-English keyboards) it is mostly helpful and supports the understanding of the shown problem cases or suggested solutions. I find the ability to record and display keyboard activity particularly useful. Not to mention that some suggestions and solutions cannot be described verbally at all and urgently require a video.įor all the shortcomings screencast may still have, it is a very useful and valuable tool to support communication among users. unfortunately not about a "product" like Screencast.Įspecially for people like me, who don't speak English very well, screencast is a good way to offer helpful solutions for questions or user problems. Can tell Autodesk your feelings in Product Feedback. ![]()
